I have been freelance writing semi-professionally for about 25 years. Everyone always says to write about what you know and because of my "checkered" work and hobby past that covers a lot of ground! I am indeed a "Jill of all trades, master of none." I know a little bit about a lot of things. (And not a lot about anything...except maybe dogs and horses.)

A true Gemini, I like having several projects going on at one time. The more different the genre or subjects the better. When I get bored with one topic I can quickly jump to another or even become a time traveler and immerse myself in a time long past (I'm an avid history buff, so my very first novel was set in the War Between the States era). My past editors have called me "prolific," my neighbors call me "wordy" (or worse). Either way, it means I can fill out a conversation or a book in a hurry.

I’m 54 years old and after all this time it took a wakeup call from breast cancer (six years out and counting!) to make me decide what I want to be when I grow up. Who knew that it would be what I already am. As my favorite t-shirt says, “I is a writer. Words, they is my life!” With this new commitment to myself, I decided to break away from doing only non-fiction writing and focus on what us Southerners do best… spinning yarns. I hope you enjoy them.

NEWSFLASH: I just signed a contract that should see at least one of my novels being available in e-format by Christmas 2012! Yay me!

The photos over <------- there are vignettes of things that are most important in my life: my husband, my best friend, my pets, our farm, nature and wildlife and of course BOOKS. Without all of them I'd be drooling in a corner somewhere counting my toes (I have ten, but I didn't drool when I counted them).
